It’s been over a year since I let my previous website expire. I had planned on moving back to WordPress (from Squarespace) at the time, in what ought to have been month or so, but then Covid 19 came along – and ‘normal’ life vanished almost completely.
We’re still not back to normal, not even sure what that will be as we’re still trying to escape fallout from Covid, but I’m now getting back to running my new site (and this blog) on WordPress again.
I have to say Squarespace is a terrific platform though, very easy to get up and running on it and their templates are beautifully designed. Fairly priced too, for what you get but, eventually I did need to do some things on my site that were a little awkward to accomplish on their platform, so here I am back on WordPress.
With so many choices these days for publishing anything socially it does seem little retro to still use a blog – but I like owning my own content and having more control over how it is used. Plus the format of blog posts, for writing as much as for reading, still appeals to me.
So here we go again, let’s hope I can keep up my blog in the style it dreams of being accustomed to!
